I hope you’re singing it with me. If you’re younger than 40, you may need to look it up. In a normal year, it can be difficult to look past the challenges we’re facing to focus on the blessings that God has in store for us each day. 2020 has magnified that difficulty and more than ever, it’s important that we keep our gaze upward to see what God has planned for us.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, it looks completely different than it did last year. Loved ones are not with us, the loss of income has made it difficult to plan a feast, and a heightened level of anxiety makes it even more difficult for us to focus on the Blessings around us. Though it is difficult, I encourage you to maintain your focus on the Provider of Peace and Joy. Jesus gives us this assurance in John 16:33 (NIV). “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Today, I pray you choose Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. Hope that tomorrow will bring new blessings that you cannot even imagine. Peace, knowing that God is in control and Jesus truly has overcome the world. Joy in knowing that you are a loved child of God. Love for yourself and everyone you encounter.
I am thankful for each of you and the role you play in the Lakeview Ministry. My prayers are with you and I look forward to seeing you and hearing of God’s work in your lives as we continue to move forward together.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Yours in Christ,
Josh Pulver, President/CEO
