Reservations are open for family camp, this Labor Day Weekend, at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center. The three-night, four-day all-inclusive vacation includes private lodging, meals, worship, engaging and intentional activities and outdoor fun and recreation. Open to all ages, the family event will take place on Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7.
“We are so excited to see everyone at family camp this Labor Day weekend,” stated Bradley Doherty, Director of Program and Ministry. “It will be an amazing event for families to grow closer to Christ and each other. The theme is ICYMI (in case you missed it) so the retreat will be jam packed with many of the things we have missed out on because of Covid-19. We have some really exciting new programs and activities that we can’t wait to share with everyone.”
According to Monroe Walker, Chief Administration Officer, Lakeview will follow all Covid-19 protocols for family camp.
“We have followed closely the medical guidelines for camp operation during the pandemic regarding facility readiness and practices for safe gathering,” stated Walker. “These include respiratory, hand, and cabin hygiene protocols as well as our cafeteria safe practices plan. We feel confident about guests’ and staff’s safety with everyone following the protocol.”
Scheduled events include a county fair, a luau party and a fireworks show at Lake Lemons. Rev. John Wayne McMann, Lead Pastor of contemporary worship at Marvin United Methodist Church, will lead the morning services.
The family camp rate is $200 for the first family member plus an additional $100 for each additional family member. When booking, guests will receive $300 off when they use the promotional code, FAMILY2020. You bring the family, Lakeview will do the rest. Reserve now at www.lakeviewmcc.org.
